Synopsis
Mario and Manuel are twins who look like each other but who differ diametrically in mental attitude. On graduation day, they present their mother their diplomas as token of filial devotion. In turn, the mother offers Mario an emerald necklace, and Manuel, a gold bracelet, as gifts, and expresses the wish to see them settled down before she dies. During a party given in honor of the two graduates, Manuel introduces Conchita to his mother who is pleased with her, being an heiress. Soon after, while making sketches in a fishing village, Mario meets Angelina, a fisherman's daughter, falls in love with her. Doña Marina, Mario's mother, bitterly opposes her son's engagement to the humble girl, and after a strong argument, drives her son from the family home.
